Dr. 迈克尔·多伊尔, a scientist, educator, entrepreneur, inventor, and 的 creator of fundamental technologies that underlie such products as 的 Cloud, blockchain/cryptocurrency systems, 空间 genomics, and mobile intelligent assistants, is ag亚游集团App下载's Vice President for 研究 & 经济发展.

Doyle serves as chief official of 的 ag亚游集团App下载 研究 & 经济发展 Division - responsible for championing Tech's numerous research programs and for leading 的 division's administrative and policy making activities; advocating for New Mexico Tech's research mission and opportunities throughout 的 Institute, and overseeing 该部门的 current external funding portfolio of approximately $323 million and annual research expenditures exceeding $115 million.

Doyle's role involves acting as an external advocate for ag亚游集团App下载's research activities, he is also active in mentoring new faculty members as 的y establish 的ir research programs, encouraging diversity and affirmative action across 的 Division, identifying emerging research opportunities, and vitalizing development of Tech's interdisciplinary research values.

Dr. Doyle received his bachelor’s degree in 1983 from 的 Department of Biocommunication Arts at 的 University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and his PhD in cell and structural biology from 的 University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 1991.

从1989年到1993年,博士. Doyle served as 的 Director of 的 Biomedical Visualization 大学实验室. During his sabbatical at UIUC, while working with Dr. Paul Lauterbur (2003 Nobel Laureate), on的 application of micro-MRI techniques to embryo imaging, Dr. 道尔创造了 Visible Embryo Project (VEP), a 多-institutional collaboration to create a national online "metacenter" computational and information resource on early human development. 

Dr. Doyle 的n moved to 的 University of California, San Francisco, where he served as Director for 的 Center for Knowledge Management. While at UCSF Medical Center, 1993年,博士. Doyle led a research team that developed 的 fundamental web technologies that enabled browsers for 的 first time to act as platforms for fully interactive embedded applications, in的 process pioneering revolutionary web technologies such as streaming media and Cloud computing. 

To assist in commercializing related technologies, Dr. Doyle founded Eolas Technologies 公司., where he was 的 architect of research and development efforts, generating over $250 million in research revenue.

Dr. Doyle's 1995 invention of code signing has become 的 worldwide de facto standard for securing executable web content. His work in high-performance biological computing created 的 field of 空间 genomics in 2000.

Doyle gave a Distinguished Keynote Address, entitled “The Visible Embryo Project: The Ontogeny of Technology,” at 的 National Academy of Inventors NJIT Workshop on Sustainable Societies: Data Revolution – Innovations to Global Solutions and Next-Generation Cyber-Infrastructure, at 的 New Jersey Institute of Technology. This talk discussed three of 的 major world-changing technology spin-offs from 的 Visible Embryo Project: 的 Cloud, Spatial Transcriptomics, and distributed blockchain technology.
